Fire Door Carpenter
Install and repair fire doors to a certified standard: doorsets, leaves, closers, seals and hardware across flats, schools and care homes.
About the role
Our fire door work is inspected, photographed and certificated, so it has to be right first time. You'll fit new FD30 and FD60 doorsets, hang leaves into existing frames and carry out remedials from inspection reports: seals, closers, hinges, gaps, glazing and hardware.
Every door gets before and after photos and a completion record. Certificated jobs are delivered with our BM TRADA Q-Mark certificated contractors, and we'll support you to gain that status if you don't hold it yet.
What you'll do
- Install FD30 and FD60 doorsets and leaves to the manufacturer's data sheet
- Remedial repairs from inspection reports: seals, closers, hinges, latches, gap adjustment, glazing
- Work tidily in occupied buildings: flats, schools, care homes and offices
- Record every door with photos and notes in our app
- Work alongside our BM TRADA Q-Mark certificated contractors on certificated jobs
What we're looking for
- Time-served carpenter or joiner with fire door experience
- Knowledge of BS 8214 and what makes a door compliant: gaps, seals, closers, compatible hardware
- Own hand tools, full UK driving licence and a CSCS card
Good to have
- BM TRADA Q-Mark or FIRAS installer experience, FDIS or a Level 2 fire door installation qualification
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in carpentry and joinery
