Fire Doors

Fire door installation: certified FD30 and FD60 doorsets, supplied and fitted

We supply and fit certified fire doors, from a single flat entrance door to a whole building. Installed doors usually start at around £1,600 + VAT each depending on the option, and you get a fixed price from photos or measurements. Fitting is done by our BM TRADA Q-Mark / FIRAS-certificated contractors, so the door and the install both come with certification.

Fire door installation at a glance

  • Doors: FD30 and FD60 timber doorsets, single and double, with vision panels, closers, seals and signage as needed
  • Options: new leaf in a sound existing frame, or a complete doorset with frame and ironmongery
  • Rough cost: installed doors usually start at around £1,600 + VAT each, more for a full frame-and-door set, glazing, FD60 or double doors
  • Paperwork: third-party certified door, certificated installation and a photo record for your fire safety file

Why installation matters as much as the door

A fire door only works as tested if the whole assembly is right: certified leaf, frame, hinges, seals, closer and the gap around it, installed to the manufacturer's tested detail. A good door badly fitted fails an inspection. That is why we use certificated fitters and record every door.

How it works

  1. Send photos of the doors and frames, or your inspection report, with the number of doors and the postcode.
  2. We confirm what can be kept, what needs replacing and give a fixed price per door, with the options explained.
  3. You pay a deposit to book. The date is confirmed once it clears.
  4. Our certificated fitters install, adjust and check every door, and photograph each one.
  5. You receive the certificates and photo record for your fire safety file.

Repair or replace?

Many failed doors can be repaired for far less than a new door. See repair or replace a failed fire door and fire door repairs. Doors that cannot be repaired are replaced with certified doorsets.

Certification

Certified work, with the paperwork to prove it

Doors are supplied with third-party certification and installed by our BM TRADA Q-Mark / FIRAS-certificated contractors, and the certificate goes in your fire safety file. DC supplies, specifies and manages the work; the certification belongs to the contractors who fit, not to DC.

Frequently asked questions

How much does fire door installation cost?
Installed doors usually start at around £1,600 + VAT each depending on the option. A complete frame-and-door set, glazing, FD60 or double doors cost more. Send photos and the number of doors for a fixed price.
What is the difference between FD30 and FD60?
The number is the minutes of fire resistance the tested door assembly provides. FD30 is the common choice for flat entrance and many internal doors; FD60 is used where the fire strategy needs it. The right rating comes from your fire risk assessment or fire strategy.
Can you fit a new door into my existing frame?
Often, if the frame is sound and suitable. We check the frame from photos. If it is damaged, missing or not suitable, a complete doorset is the safer option.
Are your fire doors certified?
Yes. Doors are third-party certified and installed by our BM TRADA Q-Mark / FIRAS-certificated contractors, with certificates provided for your records.
Do you supply and fit, or fit only?
Both. We can supply and fit certified doorsets, or fit doors you have bought. Send the details.
Can I repair my fire doors instead?
Often, yes. See our fire door repairs page. We tell you which doors can be repaired and which need replacing.
Does fitting include signage and the paperwork?
Yes. Doors are signed where required and each one is photographed, with a record and the certificates for your fire safety file.
Where do you fit fire doors?
Luton, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London, and the Thames Valley and East Midlands. Send the postcode and we will confirm.
