DC Fire & Security covers Slough from our base at 2 Winsdon Court, Luton. We do fire risk assessments, fire stopping, fire door inspections and repairs, commercial fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control. It is roughly 35 miles by road, and we do not charge travel. Send photos or plans and we usually come back with a fixed price the same day.
The borough is not one kind of place, so the risks are not one kind either.
Slough Trading Estate is one of the largest industrial estates in Europe in single ownership. It is owned by SEGRO and holds more than 30 data centres alongside offices, warehouses and light industry. Around it you find office parks, trade units, retail, schools, and a large stock of flats and houses let to several tenants.
The Heathrow side of the borough adds hotels with guests asleep in unfamiliar buildings. That is a different fire risk from a warehouse, and it needs a different assessment.
A data hall, a hotel corridor and a converted house in multiple occupation all need fire protection that works. The checks are not the same. We start with the building, not a standard package.
Two bodies matter, and they look at different things.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service covers Slough. Its Slough station is on Tuns Lane. The fire service enforces the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in business premises and in the shared parts of blocks of flats.
Slough Borough Council is the local housing authority. It licenses houses in multiple occupation and deals with housing conditions in rented homes. Landlords of shared houses can find both bodies asking about fire safety. Our Slough fire risk assessment page goes through what each one looks for.
Each service has a national page with the full detail. These are the Slough angles.
A fire risk assessment and a fire door inspection are separate services. One does not cover the other. They sit side by side.
We are in Luton. Slough is a drive across the top and round the west of London.
By road it is about 35 miles. In normal traffic expect 40 to 50 minutes, and longer at rush hour. We do not charge for travel.
For most work we start from photos, plans or an old report. We price from those, so you get a fixed figure before anyone drives out. For fire doors in the wider region see fire doors across the Thames Valley. We also cover nearby Reading, Uxbridge and Hayes.
